Message from Market Manager
NOTE FROM GROWER ORGANICALLY INCLINED: HOW TO MAINTAIN FRESHNESS OF DELIVERED PRODUCT When you purchase items from Donna, please note that plastic bags are used only to transfer the product to you. All nuts and seeds, chunks of energy products or anything containing oil should be refrigerated in glass jar to avoid contents from picking up odors and to keep it fresh. Plastic packaging does not protect contents from absorbing surrounding odors and is not airtight which means that oils can go rancid. Refrigeration is not needed for dried fruit (dates, cranberries, raisins), and legumes & grains (lentils, beans, peas, rice, oats) but they should be stored away from light, within closed glass jars to keep out the humidity. All good advice to keep your precious purchase fresh!
SUNDAY GARDEN LECTURE SERIES Thanks to all who attended and special thanks to Sunday’s lecturers Christine Larsen and Jeff & Emily Drew. Check weblog Calendar of Events for next Sunday’s FREE lectures. Hope to see you! For a limited time, Chris’ presentation is available online at this link.
JEFF YENTZER’S NEW VIDEO ON CONSUMING MORINGA We are SO grateful to Jeff of Vibrant Health for his video contributions to our Market Community. He does these for us and for you! This 3-minute video has loads of nutritional info on the benefits of moringa and how to substitute moringa for protein powder.
UPCOMING VEGGIES Be sure to check the Market closely every week going forward as the veggie variety begins to shift in the direction of FALL. “Yayyy!” (I heard that)
WELCOME TO OUR NEWEST CUSTOMERS! Once you have submitted your order, if in doubt about what you owe, you can always confirm what you have been charged for by checking your account history and viewing your most current invoice. Instructions on how to do that are on our Q&A page under the question entitled Since you don’t provide an invoice with delivery, how do I know what I owe? on the third bullet item. Also, since your vegetables are picked fresh within 24 hours of delivery, they should be lasting for WEEKS in your refrigerator. When you accept delivery, please take a few minutes to inspect your order to protect your vegetables from unnecessary spoilage. Lastly, it is imperative that you understand our policy on Unclaimed Orders found on our Q&A page. When you make a purchase you are agreeing to abide by this policy.
