Grower Base is Growing!
Who knew? Urban Farmers are finding us and contacting us about selling their excess vegetables through our Market. THIS is what evolves when you hold to a vision of "St Petersburg as a Small Town Farming Community”. I’ll be at Sunken Gardens to talk about this on Saturday morning. Come meet me there and support our Mission to encourage people to grow their own food so they don’t have to buy it from us. We are half-way (!) through our fourth year as an online chemical-free vegetable market resource for the St. Petersburg Community. I am excited to share details on SPLG’s mission—and steps in progress—for building a productive, small town farming community—year-round—right here in St. Petersburg. PRICE: $6 for seniors, $8 for others. You get to take a tour of the gardens too! Sunken Gardens: 1825 4th St. N., St. Petersburg, Fl 33704
Grower News
- New Grower this week is bringing us olive oil and pink himalayan sea salt! Dino Korovessis of Melina International Trading Company located in Pinellas Park, imports and bottles organic, extra virgin olive oil from his privately owned family garden in Kalamata, Greece. Read all about his support of local charities on his Grower Page.
- New Grower Faithful Farms is located in Terra Ceia. Shall I say that my visit with them was “fruitful”? They are hydroponic and the photo link on their grower page will take you there on a visit. Welcome to Steve & Tara Kipps!
- Third week in a row! The Dancing Goat has extended the sale on selected raw dairy items.
- Grower Bedrock Living is on the Market this week and the first week of every month until summertime. Don’t forget to order your toothpaste and mineral body butter this week for delivery this Friday.
- St. Pete Fruit Stand stays active this week with lots of fresh stevia from Kathleen Maxwell. The quality herbs coming from Kathleen’s urban garden is amazing!
Message from Your Market Manager
LOVING THIS TIME OF YEAR
Change is in the air, literally and figuratively. We are happy to welcome more new growers more often than we used to! The vision of a small town farming community in St. Petersburg is manifesting itself. Enjoy the show… (smile) THANK YOU to all the volunteers who have been dedicating their valuable time to serving St. Pete Locally Grown’s customers in the St. Petersburg Community.
WELCOME TO OUR NEWEST CUSTOMERS!
Once you have submitted your order, if in doubt about what you owe, you can always confirm what you have been charged for by checking your account history and viewing your most current invoice. Instructions on how to do that are on our Q&A page under the question entitled Since you don’t provide an invoice with delivery, how do I know what I owe? Also, since your vegetables are picked fresh within 24 hours of delivery, they should be lasting for WEEKS in your refrigerator. When you accept delivery, please take a few minutes to inspect your order to protect your vegetables from unnecessary spoilage. Lastly, it is imperative that you understand our policy on Unclaimed Orders found on our Q&A page. When you make a purchase you are agreeing to abide by this policy.
