    Our Small Town Farming Community

St. Pete Locally Grown’s Market is attracting new Growers. We are getting less dependent on “less local” resources for the fresh vegetables we sell on our Market. Special Thanks are in order to all our Growers who have dedicated the past few years to making this happen and to our new Growers who give us a chance to prove that the customer demand exists. We wish to thank Growers large and small for the intention they are demonstrating and the hard work they are investing in literally propagating the outcome we all want: Fresh, Locally Grown, Chemical-Free Vegetables for the St. Petersburg Community. Gracious Gratitude to our loyal customers who have been with us since the beginning of 2011 as well as the customers who are signing up, on average, 20 per month. Endless Appreciation for our fab Volunteers who ask for nothing in return for their investment of valuable time for planting, harvesting, packaging, and delivering St. Pete Locally Grown’s precious cargo to YOUR HOME & OFFICE. Our small town farming community continues to unfold!

    Message from Your Market Manager

    Friday Deliveries
The picture above was taken early Friday morning on my way home from Enterprise Commercial Trucks where I had just picked up our delivery vehicle. I wish everyone could feel the excitement I get jumping behind the wheel of this powerful long-bed cargo van every Friday morning in anticipation of filling it up with your vegetable orders. Our Friday volunteer delivery team is an amazing one, well-trained and dedicated to exceptional customer service. They too get excited at the anticipation of customers greeting them both with big smiles of delight and recent evidence of progress in their home backyard gardens. THIS small local business—called St. Pete Locally Grown—is helping to build the small town farming community taking shape in St. Petersburg. What a joy & what a mission! Have you told your friends and neighbors what they might be missing, not only in the way of produce, but the sense of belonging to a local grassroots effort that can ONLY benefit their health, the local economy, and the city of St. Petersburg?

    YOUR Market Manager
I’m not kidding when I sign emails this way. My job is to help you enjoy the best our Market has to offer. That includes encouraging you to attend our potluck socials, linking you up with Market resources you aren’t yet aware of, suggesting ways to cook veggies that you’ve never experienced, recommending ways you can use your talent to serve others via our Volunteer program, and generating enthusiasm for growing your own food if you are inclined to do so! Please let me know how we can better our service to you, our Valued Customers. Please tell us “How are we doing?”

Sharing An Account & Paying For Membership Fees
Many people ask if it’s ok to share an account and split the membership fee. Since our livelihood depends on each annual membership fee to operate YEAR ROUND for our customers, the simple answer has to be NO. Did you know that the majority of our Growers receive—and well deserve—80% of what customers pay for Market goods? The Market gets the remainder to help with overhead and supplies. This is just ONE reason why CUSTOMER ACCOUNT SHARING IS PROHIBITED. Membership in St. Pete Locally Grown is “priceless” and works out to just $7.50 per month per household. Customers can defer full payment by paying with a credit card. For those who consider the fee too high, we hope you will compare it with local options and let us know if you find something more affordable that offers both: 1) YEAR ROUND locally grown produce and 2) the bonus of a built-in YEAR ROUND social community. We will continue to offer low delivery fees and product pricing that either competes with—or is lower than—local health food retailers. You will not get fresher produce than ours unless you grow your own & we’ll even teach you how to do that. P-R-I-C-E-L-E-S-S. Do contact your Market Manager Tina Levy if you have any questions about your account or membership fees.

LOOKING FOR A CO-OP PICKUP NEAR YOU?
Check out SPLG’s current list of drop spots on our Q&A page. Not finding a good match? Call Market Manager at 727-515-9469. We can usually find a win-win solution.

    WELCOME TO OUR NEWEST CUSTOMERS!
Once you have submitted your order, if in doubt about what you owe, you can always confirm what you have been charged for by checking your account history and viewing your most current invoice. Instructions on how to do that are on our Q&A page under the question entitled Since you don’t provide an invoice with delivery, how do I know what I owe? Also, since your vegetables are picked fresh within 24 hours of delivery, they should be lasting for WEEKS in your refrigerator. When you accept delivery, please take a few minutes to inspect your order to protect your vegetables from unnecessary spoilage. Lastly, it is imperative that you understand our policy on Unclaimed Orders found on our Q&A page. When you make a purchase you are agreeing to abide by this policy.
