    Our Small Town Farming Community

St. Petersburg’s urban farmer’s have risen to the challenge this fall to feed our Market Community! We are much less dependent on outside resources for the fresh vegetables we sell on our Market and Special Thanks are in order to all our Growers who have dedicated the past few years to making this happen. We wish to thank Growers large and small for the intention they are demonstrating and the hard work they are investing in literally propagating the outcome we all want: Fresh, Locally Grown, Chemical-Free Vegetables for the St. Petersburg Community. Gracious Gratitude to our loyal customers who have been with us since the beginning of 2011 as well as the customers who are signing up, on average, 20 per month. Endless Appreciation for our fab Volunteers who ask for nothing in return for their investment of valuable time for planting, harvesting, packaging, and delivering St. Pete Locally Grown’s precious cargo to YOUR HOME & OFFICE. Our small town farming community continues to unfold!

    Message from Your Market Manager

    YOUR Market Manager
I’m not kidding when I sign emails this way. My job is to help you enjoy the best our Market has to offer. That includes encouraging you to attend our potluck socials, linking you up with Market resources you aren’t yet aware of, suggesting ways to cook veggies that you’ve never experienced, recommending ways you can use your talent to serve others via our Volunteer program, and generating enthusiasm for growing your own food if you are inclined to do so! Please let me know how we can better our service to you, our Valued Customers.

    VALUABLE LOCAL RESOURCE
There are so many valuable resources promoting sustainability within St. Petersburg, you will have to check in with the Sustainable Urban Agriculture Coalition (SUAC) in St. Petersburg to get a list! In fact, one of the most important local grassroots movements going on in St. Petersburg is spearheaded by the local Gaia’s Guardian Group that meets weekly. Please visit their website at http://www.gaiasguardians.info/ to find out where and when they meet and link to wonderful articles that will teach you how to grow your own food. At monthly meetings, you will mingle with wonderful interesting folks who will encourage you to step out and make a difference, not only in your own life and for your own health, but for the health of our local Community. There are many people to feed in St. Petersburg and it only makes sense that Growers selling through St. Pete Locally Grown cannot feed the entire city. Luckily, local trends reflects clearly that our St. Petersburg is quite active in feeding itself, through school gardens, community gardens, corporate gardens, urban farms, and home gardens like yours. We are behind that movement 100 percent! If you love St. Pete, please look them up and attend a Gaia’s Guardian Meeting. Get involved now!

    WE RECYCLE
We need STURDY egg cartons, plastic, cardboard and sturdy (not thin) styrofoam. We are willing to get them back to our egg Growers. Big need for these! Best to drop them on the front stoop of our home if you know where we live. But if you want to leave them for us with your weekly coolers that’s ok too.

LOOKING FOR A CO-OP PICKUP NEAR YOU?
Check out SPLG’s current list of drop spots on our Q&A page. Not finding a good match? Call Market Manager at 727-515-9469. We can usually find a win-win solution.

    WELCOME TO OUR NEWEST CUSTOMERS!
Once you have submitted your order, if in doubt about what you owe, you can always confirm what you have been charged for by checking your account history and viewing your most current invoice. Instructions on how to do that are on our Q&A page under the question entitled Since you don’t provide an invoice with delivery, how do I know what I owe? Also, since your vegetables are picked fresh within 24 hours of delivery, they should be lasting for WEEKS in your refrigerator. When you accept delivery, please take a few minutes to inspect your order to protect your vegetables from unnecessary spoilage. Lastly, it is imperative that you understand our policy on Unclaimed Orders found on our Q&A page. When you make a purchase you are agreeing to abide by this policy.
