    Seeking Delivery Solution

I am seeking an alternative to renting a cargo van for our weekly deliveries. It’s very expensive and is going to impact our fees in the long run. I am wondering if our Market Community can put our heads (and pocketbooks) together to figure out a “palatable” solution that will help St. Pete Locally Grown makes its deliveries with a more cost effective solution. One idea is to borrow or rent a van from any of you who may have a large van available on Fridays. Another is to make a group purchase of a van and take turns using it, with SPLG getting it on Fridays. Your thoughts please?

    POTLUCK SOCIALS
Have you attended one of our monthly socials yet? If not, you won’t know what you are missing until you do. Everyone who attends leaves feeling uplifted, better informed, having met new friends. Held exclusively for active customers, these socials are a great place to get recipes, gain insight into the urban farming movement, and network for your business. If you receive an Evite, you are eligible to attend. Please come!

    WELCOME TO OUR NEWEST CUSTOMERS!
Once you have submitted your order, if in doubt about what you owe, you can always confirm what you have been charged for by checking your account history and viewing your most current invoice. Instructions on how to do that are on our Q&A page under the question entitled Since you don’t provide an invoice with delivery, how do I know what I owe? . Also, since your vegetables are picked fresh within 24 hours of delivery, they should be lasting for WEEKS in your refrigerator. When you accept delivery, please take a few minutes to inspect your order to protect your vegetables from unnecessary spoilage. Lastly, it is imperative that you understand our policy on Unclaimed Orders found on our Q&A page. When you make a purchase you are agreeing to abide by this policy.

    MARKET FEES
Delivery and membership fees are being reevaluated for the coming year. As your Market Manager, one of my duties is to grow the Market and to retain our dedicated customers. To that end, I can assure you that, whatever we decide to do, it will be done for the good of sustaining our Market and providing affordable, high quality goods from our Market to your door. Longterm, I envision Market fees fluctuating up—and down—as needed so the Market can continue to provide this much needed service and valuable products to the St. Petersburg Community. Stay tuned.

BEDROCK LIVING JOINS ST. PETE LOCALLY GROWN
We are very excited to welcome Bedrock Living this week. Leanna Cappucci provides some first-time, much needed products for our Market with her line of household products that she describes as her “happy accidents”. Leanna contends that these are “preservative free, chemical free, additive free, artificial colorant & fragrance free natural hygiene products that don’t just work… they heal.”

MESSAGE FROM PAM LUNN OF THE DANCING GOAT
We have recently switched raw cow milk suppliers to a smaller family farm that is more able to accommodate our needs and grow with our demands. JTB Jersey Farms, owned by Bill & Tina Wilson of Duette, Florida, produces a superior raw cow milk product from 8 mainly grass fed Jersey heifers. They will be growing as our sales grow and producing more products as time allows. The Dancing Goat will be their representative in the Tampa / St. Pete / Clearwater area and we are so proud to have made this connection. The cows are fed supplemental grain at milking time and touched daily by the family to insure the health and well being of the cows. There is NO dairy in Florida (with the exception of Full Circle in Live Oak and last I heard he was $18 a gallon raw cow milk and $22 a gallon raw goat milk) that has NON GMO feed to my knowledge – and I do stay on top of it.

    GATEAUOCHOCOLAT & OAKDALE COMMUNITY GARDEN
Emmanual Roux has decided to withdraw from our Market as his dedication to expanding local projects has depleted his availability for our Market. We appreciate his investment of time and product since our inception in 2011 and the support his participation provided to our fledging small business. Thank you, Emmanuel.
