Message from Your Market Manager
MARKET IS CLOSED NEXT WEEK FOR THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY
As you know, most produce you purchase through our Market will last for a few weeks, so stock up and enjoy all you need during the week we are closed. After the Market closes this Wednesday, Dec. 18th, it will not re-open until Dec. 30th. We will NOT close the week of New Years.
SPIRITUAL NICHE NETWORK (SNN)
You will soon receive an email from SNN regarding St. Pete Locally Grown’s new partnership in their marketing network. In addition to promoting St. Pete Locally Grown, SNN will be distributing discounted offers to our customers from other local entrepreneurs who are also partnering with SNN and are equally concerned with healthy lifestyles. In effect, our small businesses are marketing to each others customers. I am excited to be associated with a network that works to build the local economy through its entrepreneurs! With that said, you are under NO obligation to accept emails from SNN and will be offered the choice to “opt out” of any future emails from them. Please don’t report them as spammers, just opt out if you have no interest in receiving their notices.
WELCOME TO OUR NEWEST CUSTOMERS! Once you have submitted your order, if in doubt about what you owe, you can always confirm what you have been charged for by checking your account history and viewing your most current invoice. Instructions on how to do that are on our Q&A page under the question entitled Since you don’t provide an invoice with delivery, how do I know what I owe? . Also, since your vegetables are picked fresh within 24 hours of delivery, they should be lasting for WEEKS in your refrigerator. When you accept delivery, please take a few minutes to inspect your order to protect your vegetables from unnecessary spoilage. Lastly, it is imperative that you understand our policy on Unclaimed Orders found on our Q&A page. When you make a purchase you are agreeing to abide by this policy.

DOES A FRIEND PICK UP YOUR ORDER FOR YOU?
Customers who have backups picking up for them at co-op locations are required to provide Market Manager the contact names and numbers so we can call the backup if we are running late. This will help us do a better job if we get ahead of schedule too! It will also keep your friends (& us) from getting stressed out…
COMMUNITY MARKET BLOG
Don’t forget to occasionally visit our Market Community Food Blog to see who is sharing their recent food experience. There are two entries from Customer Kim Munshower, one for fresh baked kale chips and the other a beautiful slaw made with green papaya. I’ll bet you’ve been wondering what to do with green papaya!
ONE LAST CHANCE! HOLIDAY CELEBRATIONS AND GIFTS
Are you still scratching your head on what to get that person who already has everything? Check out our gift ideas that are bound to be unique, most are LOCALLY produced, and all are available through our online Market.
Grower News
SAVORY SPICE SHOP
Paul and Joan Bailey have withdrawn from our Market temporarily and I will keep you in the loop on progress of their return to St. Pete Locally Grown. In the meantime, you can visit their storefront at 400 Beach Drive NE, Suite 173, in St. Pete where I know they will be glad to meet you in person!
GLORY ROAD GARDENS
We have been experimenting with a smaller package of Kevin’s micro-green mix for 2 oz. (instead of 4 oz.) to make them more affordable for everyone. If you want this size on our Market long-term please express your interest by purchasing them.
OUR VETERAN URBAN GROWERS ARE RETURNING
It’s wonderful to welcome back Velouria Farms and I recently heard from Toad Stool Pond that they will be back soon. YES!
