My Mother's Garden

Website: www.mymothersgarden.com/

My Mother’s Garden is a family-owned certified organic farm in Wimauma, Florida, in southern Hillsborough County, offering a wide variety of culinary herbs, salad greens, edible flowers and native plants. On 90 gorgeous acres, rich in diverse natural habitats, we raise organic herbs, flowers, and produce. Our nursery operation, citrus grove, and a small market garden have been certified organic since 1992 (Quality Certification Services #0043G).

Although not certified organic, Tamworth and Berkshire hogs are raised naturally on 1/4 acre of woodland paddock and 1.5 acres of pasture. With plenty of room to move around these hogs work their fat into their muscles which yields more marbled meat. These heritage breeds are renowned for the quality of their meat, especially bacon. In addition to wild foods such as acorns and roots that they forage, the hogs are fed a blend of corn, barley, oats and alfalfa. These heritage hogs are raised humanely without hormones, antibiotics or animal by-products.

When ready for processing, the hogs are transported one day early to rest in cool wooded paddocks in Summerville, Fl. Then they are processed by South Marion Meats, a USDA inspected facility that is Certified Animal Welfare Approved. The final product is cryo-packed and frozen.
