Madeira Beach Seafood has been run by Bill Houghton for the past twenty years. Bill got his degree in Marine Biology from USF but was more drawn to commercial fishing and boat building than studying oceanography any further. He did both for about 15 years until he was invited to help manage Madeira Beach Seafood for “just a few weeks”. The rest is history.

Bill and his team specialize in providing the freshest and highest quality locally caught seafood around. They have been working with the same local fisherman for 30 years, year round. Even with the busy business to run, Bill is still a seaman at heart and commercial fishes on weekends.

Madeira Beach Seafood is providing St. Pete Locally Grown customers with fish that are caught domestically on hook & line by local fishermen and brought ashore within 3-4 days of being caught. All fresh fish sold through us come ashore on the company’s fish docks and are frozen through their HAACP Certified Facility in Madeira Beach using no chemicals during that process.

The fish sold by Madeira Beach Seafood through St. Pete Locally Grown is either locally caught in the Gulf, or transported here from the Keys or the Atlantic coast of Florida. The only exception we make are the scallops that come from Canada. They are dry packed, never chemical processed, and not available locally.
