Share the Goodness dba “Melina International Trading Company” and our new venture For A Cause is a socially conscious business started by Dino and Katerina Korovessis in honor of our daughter Melina Maria who was born very premature, IUGR at 1 lb 12oz in 2005, with the odds against her. A miracle happened for us thankfully as Melina’s struggles had a happy ending after numerous surgeries, ER visits, and months in hospitals, during her first years.

We opened this company with the mission to Share the Goodness of the world as we had promised. Some of the Goodness we have been blessed with is Olive Oil, as Dino is descended from Kalamata, Greece, one of the most famous olive producing areas in the world and has an unequalled knowledge of olive oil and access to high quality oils at below market prices. NOTE FROM MARKET MANAGER: Melina’s Olive oil is produced by a cooperative of small family farmers involving 160 groves in Kalamata. Dino’s family is one of these farmers. The co-op shares equipment to do their own processing in preparation for exporting from Kalamata.

We are blessed with boundless energy and desire to give and share with all those we come into contact with. From there we began a distribution company and now have over 250 direct wholesale customers in Florida and several distributors serving both the high and low end of the markets – from fine dining and resorts to supermarkets and bodegas. To fulfill market demand, and to supply For A Cause we have now added a bottling and packaging component and bottle olive oils, dry beans, salts, olives and other healthy natural products, some of which are now being offered on St. Pete Locally Grown’s Market. A portion of items with For A Cause labelling is donated to local charity and all donations are Third Party Verified. The current recipient of this funding is Faces of Courage in Brandon.

The Mission of Melina International Trading Company is to Help our Local Community – sustainably by offering consumer goods products that promote healthy/tasty food choices. We promote consumption of healthy Certified Organic Extra Virgin olive oil and educate our customers about oil olive quality. Be informed. Know your producer whenever possible!
