Mother Nature's Pantry

Website: https://www.facebook.com/mothersnaturepantrygarden

I’m a St Pete suburbanite that was longing for a simpler, slower life. In 2008 I found joy in growing nutritious organic food for my family and over the years my garden has grown from 48 square feet to a main bed of 120 square feet along with many container plants, fruit trees, raised beds and border beds. If I have a free inch of space I try to grow something edible there. I grow a variety of herbs, greens, fruits and vegetables. Eating local means eating what’s in season so I follow a natural planting schedule (planting what’s in season) just as Mother Nature intended. I DO NOT USE ANY CHEMICAL FERTILIZERS OR PESTICIDES ON MY PLANTS OR IN MY SOIL.

In April 2012 I added three Americauna hens to my family. My girl’s names are Ming Ming, Rooster and Blue. They are sweet girls and lay beautiful green and blue eggs. They free range and enjoy a varied diet of bugs, plants, grasses and worms and are supplemented with prepared feed enriched with calcium available at all times to them if they so choose to eat it. Per FDA regulations, all eggs I have for sale are sold FOR PET CONSUMPTION ONLY.

I do not use any chemicals and only enrich my soil with the gifts Mother Nature has provided us with such as horse manure, chicken manure, leaves, compost and untreated wood mulches. I spend many hours in the garden hand picking bugs off the plants and feeding them to my hens.
