My interest in herbs and all things natural originated as a child helping my grandfather in his New Jersey gardens. I often reflect back on the many varieties of vegetables and herbs he grew. I remember enthusiasticly helping with the harvesting and preparation for our Sunday dinners.

In 1976, I moved to Clearwater, FL with my parents. It wasn’t until I reached adulthood that I rediscovered my love of gardening and began learning as much as possible about the healing power of plants.

I completed a 2-year Professional Herbalist Program in April 2010 where I learned Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnostics and Chinese herbs. I also studied under the direction of internationally recognized herbalist Rosemary Gladstar.

In the summer of 2008, I founded my own company, HerbalWise, with a mission to empower people to take control of their health naturally. I work toward this goal by offering educational workshops, private consultations, and my own line of herbal remedies.

I hand-craft over 50 different remedies for helping people with digestion, anxiety, sleep, pain, allergies, and more. My remedies include medicinal herbal teas, liquid extracts, and salves. The majority of the herbs I use to make my products are obtained from Mountain Rose Herbs of Oregon. Their herbs are organic and wildcrafted (obtained in the wild). If Mountain Rose does not have an item in stock, I obtain organic herbs from Starwest Botanicals (CA) or Frontier Herbs (IA).

My workshops focus on herbal medicine-making and natural solutions to common health concerns.

Helping people learn about nature’s healing properties is very fulfilling. Not only do I get to share my knowledge, but I also enjoy learning from all of the interesting and like-minded people that attend my classes.
